This is the most useful cooking information I've read since I learned how to cook salmon (like 2 years ago?). Thank you from someone who cooks food. ❤️
Just prepared turkey for tacos using this method …..brilliant! So much tastier than the way I’ve made it for decades. Thank you for your all your techniques & cooking suggestions.
Ok thank you for this I am NEVER able to ACTUALLY BROWN my meat using the “traditionally prescribed method”......I feel less crazy now. Can’t wait to try this
I love your attention to detail! I care about these things too and can’t finish a sentence about it before my husband gives me a look and calls me a nerd. 😂 So now I have this Substack for all the nerdery. Can’t wait to try the recipe, Aldi’s ground lamb is a staple at my house!
Browning the meat worked perfectly. However, the rice took much longer to get tender (I've had a similar issue with a recipe from I Dream of Dinner). I'm following the recipe closely -- what am I doing wrong?!
I marched straight home after work and made this recipe and LOVED it! Amazingly I had every ingredient in the house. I used ground chicken and next time I’ll do this with lamb because it will be even better. What a fabulous and truly “Ali Slagle” this technique is! A keeper to have on repeat.

My new-classic salmon method coming soon!

I love this deep-dive (not a surprise, I know)
Ok I've noticed this method in a few recipes recently - thank you for explaining the why!
Making this right now - and my initially skeptical husband just said: hmmm, that actually looks really good! 😉
Excited to brown some meat now! Thank you!!!
Seems like patience is the key and just letting the meat cook and do it's thing. Great hack.
That is some really great advice, I will definitely try this the next time I'm working on a recipe. Keep up the good work!

This is why you are a LEGEND, a recipe QUEEN. Thank you for this!
Absolutely my pleasure
I finally understand what it means when a person says someone is “doing God’s work.” 😉thank you, Ali, thank you!

Same here for the rice. Took twice as long. I can’t figure it out!
This is THE CONTENT I NEED!! Thank you. I've always been frustrated by my mediocre ground meat browning and assumed it was a me problem. But NO!
Can't wait to try it.

YAY!
Made this tonight and it was SO good. Love how easily it comes together. A hit in our house for sure!!
