No one’s list of forever ingredient will be the same: The Dinner Tetris series shows just that. I’ve been unrolling my personal list as the ingredients are used in recipes, but now that the list has reached 39 ingredients, I cannot, will not, decide on the 40th.
What am I forgetting? Overlooking? What do we need? I will not be re-branding the newsletter to 39 Forever Ingredients so thank you in advance for your assistance.
I like white miso. It's versatile and adds such amazing umami! But also yogurt seems like a staple that should make the cut.
as a spice fiend, just black pepper and chili flakes don't cut it for me so I vote hot sauce of any variety (harissa, chili oil, tabasco, fancy small batch local hot sauce, the list goes on)
